Support2Talk

Support2Talk aims help families who are experiencing communication problems where the young person is aged 16-25 years. If a young person is at risk of leaving home due to conflict or has left home and wants to re-establish contact and rebuild their relationships then mediation can help. Mediators are not counsellors, they don't give advice or take sides their role is to listen to both sides to build up a picture of the conflict situation then aim to get the family to talk and resolve the conflict how they want to with the help of the mediator who creates the safe space for the family to talk and listen to each other.

Hi Just an update on Support2Talk! ;)

As of the 1st of April this year Support 2 Talk is also offering a preventative service for families in conflict so its now available for children and young people from 11yrs to 25 yrs. However if you are 11 you must be in year 7 at aschool to access the Service. Its hoped that this change will mean that some conflicts / arguments get resolved earlier as lots of young people were telling them that they were arguinging with their parents for years before they left home or wanted to leave!

If you want to find out more email them at support2talk@actionforchildren.org.uk
